The aim of the AI for Seniors project – ‘Empowering older adults with modern digital skills for everyday life and well-being’ (AI4S) is to meet an urgent need for various digital skills by equipping older adults in Sweden, Ireland, Denmark and Spain with PRACTICAL AI SKILLS TAILORED TO EVERYDAY LIFE. By focusing on AI applications in health monitoring, smart systems, financial management and communication, the project enables older adults to maintain their independence, stay connected to their local communities and benefit from the digital world.
The approach is in line with key EU policies such as the Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) and the European Pillar of Social Rights, which emphasise LIFELONG LEARNING AND DIGITAL INCLUSION, especially for seniors and vulnerable groups.
AI4S aim to bridge the digital divide for seniors by equipping them with practical AI skills that increase their independence, well-being and social connection. This will be achieved through learning modules and digital tutorials that will equip seniors with practical AI skills that give them independence, health and digital confidence.
AI4S will develop a handbook on AI skills transfer and a framework for workshops that will provide educators with structured teaching methods in AI, ensuring appropriate learning pathways.
Through tailored AI training, important support from educators and international mentoring, we will enable seniors to confidently use AI in their everyday lives and ensure that they remain active participants in an increasingly digital world. AI4S will promote digital lifelong learning.
The project period is 01/09-2025 - 31/08-2027. The project is carried out in collaboration with partners from Sweden, Ireland, Spain and supported by the Erasmus+ program
