Cultural Synergy

Cultural Synergy: Advancing the approach to care labour shortage through Filipino-Nordic joint stakeholder cooperation.

Cultural Synergy is a two‑year Erasmus+ project focused on addressing the growing shortage of care‑sector workers in Northern Europe by strengthening cooperation between European and Filipino stakeholders. The initiative explores the opportunities and challenges involved in recruiting and integrating care workers from third countries - especially the Philippines - into a new cultural, linguistic, and labour‑market context.

Based on an extensive Needs Analysis, the project develops key outputs including an Educational Toolkit, a Migrant Educational Toolkit, and an Implementation Guide. These resources aim to support successful cultural, educational, and professional transitions for migrants, while helping educational institutions and workplaces implement effective training and integration practices.

The project is carried out by a consortium of partners from Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Romania, who collaborate through study visits, stakeholder dialogues, and research activities—such as fieldwork in the Philippines—to deepen understanding of migration realities and care‑sector needs. Together, they work to create synergies between European and Filipino cultures and to strengthen the care workforce in a sustainable and culturally informed way.

The project contains five work packages as follows:

  • Work package No.1 Project Management
  • Work package No.2 - Needs Analysis
  • Work package No.3 - Migrant Educational Toolkit & Implementation Guide
  • Work package No.4 - Quality Assurance and Evaluation
  • Work package No.5 - Dissemination and Exploitation Of Results
